Fabric

Another way of going down the surface pattern route is to look into the fabrics used in the den. This seems like a much easier way of doing this idea and I feel I can do a lot with it.
My first instinct is to do some printing. I feel like printing is one of my strong points and is something I really enjoy doing.

 

So firstly I created a lino print from one piece of fabric used in the den.

 

 

I then layered over another lino cut I did based on another piece of fabric used.

 

 

Over the top of these two prints conbined, I added some of the actual fabric that we used. I hand stitched along the lines of the pattern on the fabric. I then used acrylic paint to paint a part of the pattern. If I was to do this again I would definatly change the colour of the paint to a more subtle purple.
